On September 16th, Miami chic ruled the evening at the Crest Hollow Country Club for the “Pet Peeves” 2015 South Beach Soiree— “Unleashed at the Beach”— benefitting one of Long Island’s premier pet-rescue fundraisers. Pet Peeves is a volunteer-driven, nonprofit organization that raises funds and creates awareness for the work of numerous local animal shelters and rescue groups in both Nassau and Suffolk. Ford Smart Mobility Plan Moves into Phase Two

In January, Ford began researching ways to offer consumers the newest technology in connectivity, mobility, and autonomous vehicles, therefore creating the Ford Smart Mobility Plan. Now, the American carmaker has officially moved into phase two. In this stage, Ford will take the research gathered from phase one and begin applying it in two key areas.

Phase one started in January with 25 experiments being launched around the globe. Phase two is taking what they’ve learned thus far and applying it to two areas – flexible use and ownership, and other modes for urban travel.

Flexible Use and Ownership

Ford will introduce “Peer-2-Peer Car Sharing” to six U.S. cities and London. The program is a pilot program that will allow people to rent their Ford vehicles to other drivers for short-term use. All drivers will be prescreened the program will run on software from two different Web-based, mobile friendly companies.

Urban Mobility Solutions

A new electric bike and prototype smartphone app look to make using Ford’s bike even easier for those in urban communities. The new bike, MoDe:Flex is the third ebike. The bike will be able to connect with the rider’s smartphone for real-time information like weather, traffic congestion, parking costs, other modes of transportation and time. The app also has eyes-free navigation, route planning and healthy and fitness info capabilities.

Hassett of Wantagh Will Host 2013 Ford Escape Hunger Drive

On Friday August 17th from 11am – 3pm Hassett of Wantagh invites our fellow Long Islanders to participate in the 2013 Ford Escape Hunger Drive. Stop into our dealership during those hours and help support Feeding America, the nation’s largest domestic hunger-relief organization, who has teamed up with Ford Motor Company to try and eliminate hunger in the US. Hassett of Wantagh is proud to participate in this event that is designed to provide more than 1.2 million meals to those less fortunate. For each guest that attend’s Friday’s event, Ford will make a donation to Feeding America that could be equivalent to 40 meals for starving folks around the United States.

As per the title, Ford will be bringing a brand new 2013 Ford Escape to our dealership during the 11am – 3pm time slot in order to explain some of the advanced features that this model offers such as the automated liftgate and EcoBoost engine technology. This is the first Escape to transfer to the new global platform which has benefited other models like the 2013 Ford Focus and Fiesta.
