SmartLink Retroactive Connectivity for Ford and Lincoln

Monday, March 27th, 2017

SmartLink Retroactive Connectivity

In recent years, Ford has stayed ahead of the competition when it comes to connectivity, but this wasn’t always the case. Older Ford models, specifically those between 2010 and 2016, lacked several common features, but the automaker is taking steps to rectify the problem. A new SmartLink retroactive connectivity system will soon be available for older Ford and Lincoln vehicles.

The new SmartLink system will provide owners with a range of new features that are available on current models, but weren’t offered at the time their vehicle was purchased. New features include remote engine start, maintenance notifications, and more.

“Offering [SmartLink] through our dealerships is another way to keep us connected with our customers and earn their loyalty,” said Stephen Odell, Ford’s executive vice president of Global Marketing, Sales and Service.

Notably, Ford is upping the ante with its closest competitors by offering a built-in Wi-Fi hotspot capable of connecting to up to eight devices. The connection will be supported through partnerships with Verizon and Delphi.

The tech-savvy move makes Ford the first in the industry to offer retroactive connectivity to customers. Users will be able to schedule service through SmartLink as well.

SmartLink retroactive connectivity will officially launch this summer. Pricing has yet to be announced.

We here at Hassett Pre-Owned are happy to see older Ford and Lincoln models becoming better than ever!

Ford October Sales

The highly popular Ford Explorer contributed to Ford’s record sales in October

Ford October sales looked promising as the Fusion, Escape, Explorer, and Transit Connect all posted record sales for the month. Government and commercial sales were up 4% and 18% for Ford, respectively,. Thanks to the power of the MKC, Lincoln sales were also up 25% for the luxury brand’s best October since 2007.

With sales totaling 22,846 vehicles, up 5% over the same month last year, the Ford Fusion experienced its best-ever October sales performance and is on pace to break the 300,000-vehicle mark this year for the first time ever. The Fusion is one of the most sought-after vehicles here at Hassett Automotive.

The Escape managed to sell even more vehicles with 24,919 sold last month, marking a 12% increase and its best-ever October performance as well. The Escape is thriving in a market where the CUV and SUV segments are the fastest growing of all.

With 14,455 vehicles sold, Explorer sales were up 4% for the best October performance since 2004. A final best-ever record performance came from the Transit Connect—4,068 vehicles were sold, up 28%.

The 2015 Lincoln Navigator is here!

Building on the DNA of a legendary brand first introduced in the late 90s, the newly redesigned – and reinvented – 2015 Lincoln Navigator truly takes power, beauty and performance to a stunning new level in the full-sized luxury SUV market.

It’s a complete rethink of what made the Navigator such a driving icon in the first place.
In fact, we’re amazed at how many upgrades and improvements Ford has design engineered into an already segment-leading vehicle.  Here’s just a sampling of what’s new in the 2015:

interiorA newly redesigned exterior with sleek new hood design, cleaner lines and a return of the distinctive split-wing grille completes the front end.  The back end is cleaner and edgier with independent rear suspension and power up/down tailgate.  Both ends feature LED lights as well as high-intensity discharge (HID) adaptive headlamps with LED accents. “Welcome mat” lights below both front doors offer an extra touch of functionality and style.

A newly updated interior with a smartly redesigned instrument panel is the focal point.  The Reserve Package features sumptuously crafted leather and stitching, with a hand-wrapped leather instrument panel and glove box.  Natural grain wood used in paneling and trim is new to the automotive industry, previously only found on yachts.

“With the new Navigator, Ford challenges the luxury SUV market on a whole new level,” says Lou Evans, General Sales Manager at Hassett Lincoln Ford Subaru of Wantagh, NY.  “One look and you instantly see how this vehicle is in a class of its own, from the customer-focused technologies to its sheer luxury and power coupled with cargo space and towing capacity to haul virtually anything.”

Completing the Total Customer Experience.

Thursday, December 19th, 2013

Hassett of Wantagh recently unveiled its newly renovated service department at its Ford Lincoln Subaru dealership on Long Island.

“We set out to enhance and complete the total customer experience,” says Lou Evans, General Sales Manager at Hassett.  “From purchase to worry-free service, we’re known for exceeding customer expectations every step of the way.”

Hassett’s service department has the largest parts inventory on Long Island.  This means the part(s) needed will probably be in stock and located quickly by a newly streamlined inventory system.

Often, the car can be serviced while customers wait, especially for things like oil changes, tire rotations or NY State inspections.

In the meantime, customers are invited to relax in a spacious new lounge that features free wi-fi, computers, cable TV and complimentary beverages.

Service for all makes and models is available, performed by fully certified technicians with a reputation for getting it right the first time.  Customers can also call ahead and make an appointment to secure a complimentary loaner vehicle while their car is being serviced.

Hassett’s Owner Advantage Program provides complimentary oil changes, loaner cars available for service visits, 24-hour roadside assistance, Saturday service hours and a great deal more on all new and pre-owned vehicles.

With over three decades in business, Hassett is consistently recognized for its excellence in sales and service, which is why we continue to be Long Island’s No. 1 Ford Lincoln Subaru dealer.

Thursday, August 29th, 2013

If you answered “yes”, then this blog is for you!

Lincoln has been developing a new Youtube Channel called ‘Lincoln Owners” that is especially for owners of new Lincolns (hence the name) who might have some lingering questions about their car. Have You Heard of the Lincoln Reimagine Project™?

Thursday, July 18th, 2013

If you haven’t yet heard of it, the Lincoln Reimagine Project is a campaign of sorts that Lincoln initiated in hopes of finding other people and companies that share in Lincoln’s desire to bring fresh designs and ideas to their respective industries.

Lincoln Motor Company sums the project up like this:

“For 90 years, Lincoln has built motorcars with disarmingly fresh designs and focus on our drivers. Embracing this philosophy, we’ve embarked on a new journey – to celebrate the newly reimagined Lincoln Motor Company by supporting and collaborating with artists, designers and innovators who share our vision for reimagining. Our goal is to shift the cultural landscape and tap into our heritage to create one-of-a-kind collaborations with pioneers in their respective fields.”

In the video below, you’ll meet Mark Lawrence and Elizabeth Emerson of E/L studio. Mark and Elizabeth are architect’s who have done quite a bit of reimagining throughout their careers. In this video in particular, however, they show off one of their more innovative projects in Washington DC.

If you would like to see how Lincoln has been reimagining vehicles, stop by Hassett Automotive in Wantagh, NY. We have new Lincoln’s in stock now and would love to show them to you!

When homeowners need room to build a bigger house, they often have a backyard or garage sale. Everything is marked down to rock-bottom prices in an effort to ‘clean house’.

When it’s Hassett of Wantagh — Long Island’s #1 volume Ford Lincoln dealer — that’s building a bigger, better dealership, that means a Construction Super Sale to move out as many vehicles as possible. It means pulling out all the stops. Sacrificing now for the future. Giving groundbreaking deals on every car, truck, and SUV in Hassett’s tremendous inventory.

Sure, dealerships regularly run sales…but not like this one. Hundreds of beautiful, brand-new Fords, Lincolns, and Subarus have to go, so Hassett is cutting prices to record lows. Prices have also been slashed on every high-quality certified pre-owned vehicle on their lots. And remarkable lease deals are also being offered, with competitive lessees (non-Ford Motor Company) receiving up to an additional $1000 when they lease or buy a new Ford vehicle.

e“It’s really a dual-powered event,” explains Lou Evans, General Sales Manager at Hassett Ford of Wantagh. “We do need to make room for all the improvements we’ve planned and are currently building, but just as important, we want to thank all our customers for their patience and understanding during our rebuilding period. All of us here know it hasn’t always been easy — or pretty — but the good people of this Island have stood by us the whole time. So our ‘Super Construction Sale’ is our way of thanking everyone for their support while clearing space for the ‘new and improved’ Hassett. And we’re not holding anything back!”

When Lou Evans says everything has to go, no matter what, you can count on remarkable one-of-a-kind values on whichever vehicle gets your motor running. Want a beautiful new 2013 Ford? How about a Mustang Convertible for just $29,999? Or a Focus for under $17,000? If you prefer to lease, a 2013 Ford Edge SE is yours at the ridiculously low price of $149 per month for 24 months. An extra $10 a month lets you lease a new Ford Explorer. Want more? The new Ford Escape SE or Fusion SE is available for just $119 per month for 24 months. And select 2012-2013 models are available at zero percent financing for up to 5 years!

Subaru enthusiasts will find a lot to love, too. The 36mpg 2013 Impreza 2.0i can be purchased for the low price of $19,488, or leased for a mere $99 a month for 36 months. Subaru’s 2013 Outback 2.5i with automatic transmission, and Legacy 2.5i are also available at outstanding savings. And if you thought the 2014 Forester 2.5i — with automatic transmission and 32mpg — wouldn’t be included in this sale, think again: with a sale price of only $23,444 and 36-month lease with payments of just $109, you may never see these kind of savings again!

Luxury driving has never been more affordable with outstanding deals on all the magnificent new Lincolns during Hassett’s “Super Construction Sale”. Now’s the time to get the all-new redesigned 2013 Lincoln MKZ or MKX — both featuring all-wheel-drive — for a 24-month lease of only $299. Just $389 a month for 24 months lets you lease the amazing new Lincoln MKS all-wheel-drive, with similar deals available on the Lincoln MKT & Navigator, as well.

Huge savings are being given on every Hassett certified pre-owned during their “Super Construction Sale”, and, of course, come with many benefits, including include the “Hassett Advantage” with all its perks.

So that you know the tremendous value and savings waiting for you at Hassett’s “Super Construction Sale”, it’s time to get yours! Because even with Hassett’s huge inventory, these deals can’t last long. Hurry in now, and get the thanks and super-low prices you’ve earned by sticking with us while we’re building your better Hassett of Wantagh.

Monday, January 28th, 2013

With the recent introduction of the 2013 MKZ mid-sized sedan, Lincoln began the processing of redefining and reinvigorating its brand in the largest luxury market segment. On January 13, 2013, the venerated automotive manufacturer took the next step when it debuted its first entry into the small luxury utility market at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, MI: the MKC Concept Crossover.

“The small luxury utility segment is the fastest-growing within the luxury vehicle market,” states Lou Evans, General Sales Manager at Hassett of Wantagh, Long Island’s #1 Volume Lincoln dealer, and ten-time consecutive winner of the Ford’s prestigious President’s Award. “Last year alone, it experienced close to 60% growth, and has grown over 200% over the last four years. The MKC Concept Crossover represents a great first step in Lincoln’s quest to establish itself in this lucrative area. By 2016, the company plans to have three additional all-new vehicles to go with it, so they really are making a serious commitment to be part of the small luxury utility market.”

If the buzz in Detroit is any indication — and it usually is — the MKC Concept made a very good first impression. Building on the foundation of the dynamic Lincoln design DNA at the heart of the ’13 MKZ, one can’t help notice its sleek, handsomely-sculpted body. The MKC Concept feature several other distinctive exterior features, such as an uninterrupted rear-view appearance that highlights its signature full-width taillamps. This is made possible by another innovative ‘first’ from Lincoln: a lift-gate design with a side-view cutline. And these are just two of the most apparent ways Lincoln’s design and engineering teams have collectively synthesized customer-focused solutions that not both enhance a vehicle’s aesthetics and provide maximum load capability.
